Trek to Everest base camp 2020
Life has been one of bizarre happenings of late, is it just me or are the electronics behaving strangely at the moment? That and the world in general! How can you not get overwhelmed and bogged down with it all? It's a great reminder to slow down and just breathe! Something I am really trying hard to master. The summer holidays hit us with quite a start when a week or two prior both my Daughter and and Chihuahua were poorly for several weeks, bizarely both with their ears?? It has taken them ages to recover and they have been demanding my full attention. To be honest I'm so exhausted now most nights I take myself to bed early and just pass out trying to catch up on vital rest. This and the fact that I am a total beginner at this tech stuff has unfortunately lead to the blog taking longer than I ever wanted. However, these little darlings are my first priority! So needless to say I have a lot to report, in order to hold your attention and not make the blog too long to read, I have decided this will come in two, maybe even three parts. Working through the past few months from oldest to latest. So where did we leave it last time?... Oh yeah I did a vlog last time which was hard work, I am going to do more but decided this time to write as I quite enjoy putting it all in black and white. Vlogging is a really good way to put the message out there, I often listen to vlogs whilst working and I find I hear the information better than reading, so I will work on more but perhaps shorter installments and more often. Community gatherings!
Litter picking and all that grubby stuff! The litter pick on 30th June was a great success despite the low turnout, we focused on the local park in Peacehaven where the war memorial is placed, it was a shame to see it used so disrespectfully with rubbish strewn about the place dispite there being such a high number of bins per square metre in which to place it. There is a lot of drug use in this park, only that week the council had removed several used needles. We followed safetly proceedures and had no intention of picking up any we found, my little one was not allowed to use her hands either! Lots of bits of foil were found and mainly plastic bottles and general single use packaging from the local co op, the item that got the award for most exasperating of the day had to be the disposable BBQ still left on the grass with the burn crater underneath. Im realising how tough it is to get good before and after pics, for now these will have to do but trust me it was pretty bad before we started!
And so I'll bring part one to a close here and see you in the next installment, look out for part two in the next couple of days... Please look out for regular updates on the facebook page: www.facebook.com/groups/leaveonlyfootprints.UK/ If you prefer to have email updates or aren't on facebook please email me at: [email protected] to be added to a mailing list when all blogs are published or any stuff you dont see on FB! And finally but most importantly, the trek is being funded solely on donations so whether I get there and achieve my goal depends heavily on your support. I know there are so many other things going on in the world right now, but I'm really trying to make an impact on this ever changing future landscape our children will grow up in. Please give what you can, every penny will be going directly to the trek, resonably resourced equipment and the remainder to charities benefitting the Nepalese people. I will also give you a full breakdown of costs and will make every effort to keep my costs as low as possible so that more can be given to the Nepalese charities. This week my lovelies I've tried vlogging, I'm not sure yet if it's easier or more work? However I wanted to put a bit of personality into the information and make it a little more personable for you, watch the video first then read the stuff down the bottom it will make more sense.

My name is Sarah Prince and I'm really fed up with the trail of destruction us humans leave on our beautiful Mother Earth. I am a woman on a mission to prove that the trek from Lukla to Everest base camp can be done without leaving behind a trail of litter. Archives
